Summary Directs the activities of an integrated hardware/software systems design function. Designs and develops electronic, electro-mechanical equipment or systems-oriented products, and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions. Conducts feasibility studies on engineering proposals and related technical data for assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Collects operational data and prepares customer application information. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. OTHER SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS Familiar with x-ray imaging subsystems and systems including detectors, sources, software, shielding, collimation and radiation safety. Will work with electrical, mechanical, software engineering and R&D staff to develop imaging systems and applications to meet internal or customer required performance for Cargo Inspection Systems Manage day-to-day activities of the team Delegate assignments and achieve daily, weekly and monthly goals Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Experience Level with Business Tools · Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. · Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Knowledge · High-speed digital data acquisition systems, · Industrial power distribution and control systems, · Low-noise, high-bandwidth analog design · Precision large and small (20W – 20kW) PID servo motion control systems, · FPGA design (VHDL) and C++ programming. Design electrical control systems with PLC as controller · Familiarity with UL, CSA, NEC, and NFPA safety standards.
