We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a special needs school that provides full-time education, care, and therapeutic support to vulnerable children and young people with Education and Healthcare Plans.
The school supports a diverse population of up to 150 students aged 7-19, primarily diagnosed with autism or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Role:
The school's environment and curriculum are designed to cater to the unique needs of students across different ages and diagnoses, providing tailored educational and care spaces.
With the upcoming launch of their Key Stage 1 (KS1) department, they are looking for enthusiastic, resilient, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join their team.
Key Attributes:
- Experience supporting children or adults with SEN and/or disabilities, particularly in SEMH.
- Comfort in working with students of varying ages.
- High expectations for student progress, attainment, and behaviour.
- Ability to use initiative and solve problems effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a sense of humour.
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Emotional resilience in managing challenging behaviours and attitudes.
- Experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Key Stage 1 (KS1) is highly desirable.
