A bit about the role Join us at Action for Children in an exciting partnership between Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, through the 0 to 19 Torbay initiative. We are working together to promote the health, development, and well-being of children young people and families in the Torbay area. This role is crucial for providing support to families, helping them overcome challenges and improving their quality of life. You will collaborate with families to assess their needs and create personalised support plans. Offering practical and emotional assistance to empower families is key, along with working closely with other professionals and organisations to ensure comprehensive support. Experience in family support or a related field is desirable, along with excellent communication interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a strong commitment to supporting families in need. You will be helping with one to one parenting, domestic abuse support, drug related challenges, and general family support. Since you will be travelling across the Torbay Torquay and Brixham areas, it is important to have the ability to work freely across these locations driving licence will be beneficial. Familiarity with catchment theory and a good knowledge of safeguarding, including identifying safeguarding situations would be advantageous. Please note that this role does involve working occasionally on Saturdays About the service We aim to safeguard and promote good health for all children in the Paignton, Torbay, Torquay and Brixham area whilst providing comprehensive local care to those in need together with support for their families. How you'll help to create brighter futures Coordinate support for children, young people, and families through various interventions [one-to-one, group, or community based) Via face to face, online, or telephone delivery. Provide a high-quality service based on individual assessments of need maintain effective communication and relationships with colleagues, children, young people and their families Respond appropriately to Safeguarding. Build strong relationships with other professionals and partner agencies to promote strength-based approach. Keeping accurate records of interactions and progress is also important. Let's talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: NVQ Level 3 in early years or equivalent with at least two years post qualifying experience (preferred) Knowledge of developmental trauma, attachment theory, emotional regulation and attunement A sound knowledge of the impact trauma can have on children's life outcomes A positive and caring attitude with excellent interpersonal skills The ability to prioritise and manage workloads Ability to work alone as well as within a team A strong work ethic in a fast-paced and challenging environment Good to know Application Process Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
