Payroll Administrator - Accountancy Firm - Preston Area
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator who has at least 2 years or more experience of processing Payroll within an Accountancy Firm. Bookkeeping experience would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, human resources, and accounting software. The Payroll Administrator will play a critical role in maintaining employee records and compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Payroll
o Preparation of computerised payrolls
o Informing clients of the PAYE liabilities due
o Sending payslips by post & upload to portal
o Sending company summaries by post & email
o Liaising with clients with regard to payroll matters
o Dealing with RTI system
o Set up of new payrolls where appropriate
o Control of payroll schemes to ensure that all are completed by the due dates
o Dealing with ad hoc client queries
o Completion of year end P60 forms, final end of year submissions
o Migration of software to new tax year
o Dealing with the preparation and submission of CIS returns
o Dealing with HMRC by phone, email and post re: queries
2. Auto enrolment
o Identifying staging dates for clients
o Providing information about pension company alternatives
o Chase up clients to ensure registered for pension scheme
o Advising on deferment on set up
o Help registering and employee set up information letters
o Completion of 6 month declaration to Pension Regulator
o Set up scheme within payroll software
o Running appropriate pension letters with payroll
o Completing pension payments templates- excel/CSV files for submitting to Pension provider
o Dealing with re-enrolment
o Liaising with clients where necessary
