Internship Exploring General Business & Beyond
The Agent Services Division (ASD) is part of the North Carolina Department of Insurance. This division is designed to protect the public of North Carolina by ensuring that individuals, business entities, and non-insurance companies meet the qualifications for licensure and continue to operate in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes and Administrative Code Rules. The division’s main function is to license and regulate all insurance producers, insurance business entities, adjusters, appraisers, insurance premium finance companies, collections agencies, and motor clubs. The division is also responsible for the collection and reconciliation of all state fees related to licensing and compliance of these entities. In performing operational functions of the division, ASD utilizes both direct staff and vendors to meet division objectives.
An intern with the Agent Services Division would meet the needs of an individual who is interested in the insurance industry (agent, underwriter, adjuster, auditor, and continuing education) or an individual with an accounting or finance interest.
The Agent Services Division (ASD) has several different sections within the division: Communication Specialist, Financial /Non-Insurance Business Entities, Licensing, Continuing Education, Compliance Section, and Agency Investigations.
