Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists is a large multidisciplinary referral hospital providing veterinary referral services across the South of England including London and the Thames Valley. Our specialist services include Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Orthopaedic surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Emergency and Critical Care, Oncology, and Diagnostic Imaging. The hospital is an ISFM gold feline clinic and was awarded the BVHA design award for an outstanding working environment. We are part of CVS (UK) Ltd, the largest provider of integrated veterinary services in the UK; the referrals division currently operates eight referral hospitals in the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic RVNs to join our Referral night nursing team. This role incorporates inpatient care and emergency and critical care on an out-of-hours basis, seeing a variety of cases while working alongside our specialists and wards RVN team. The core night hours are 20:00 – 08:30, but alternative shift patterns can be discussed. In addition to other night RVNs, the night team is supported by one of our rotating interns who is on site and multiple specialists on-call.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring a high standard of nursing care and appropriate attention for the inpatients and emergency patients admitted out of hours.
* Administering treatments and medications as directed by our specialist clinicians.
* Comprehensively communicating with all disciplines to ensure patient treatment plans are in place and correct.
* Answering incoming telephone calls professionally and applying the appropriate action to each call.
