Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Fitter
Basic salary: up to £36,500 per year (depending on experience).
Shift Details: Permanent day shift working Monday to Friday (8am - 4:30pm) for a manufacturing company in Glossop.
Overtime: Available at time and a half over 40 hours per week and double time on Sunday & Bank Holidays.

Are you experienced in fitting, repairing, and maintaining pumps & gearboxes? In this Maintenance Fitter role, you will primarily be repairing and replacing mechanical components on blenders, spray dryers, spray coolers, and boilers. At this large manufacturing facility, the company provides specialist drying services to the chemical industry.

If successful, you will be joining an 8-person engineering team which includes 4 X Maintenance Fitters. The company has recently upgraded the engineering workshop and there are genuine career progression opportunities for engineers joining this 80-year established industry leader. Due to the R&D nature of customers' projects, the site is constantly evolving, and there is engineering variety in the workload. There is often lots of overtime available as well.
Do you tick the must-have requirements for this vacancy?
1. Maintaining, repairing and replacing components mainly being pumps and gearboxes.
2. Formally trained via an apprenticeship (or equivalent).
3. Machinery fitting.
4. Reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
5. Happy accessing parts of the machine that may require use of the ladder and other equipment that may require agile movements.
