Whether new team members join our busy office, one of our dedicated group of carers or our life changing teachers, as a Payroll Assistant, you will be one of the first in touch The Role: Although our people are all monthly paid, there is a significant variety of contracts and variability of the hours being worked by our teams - they provide care to the people we support every hour and every day of the year. This means that your role will always be challenging and no two days will be the same. Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will be part of a team, working closely with HR, Recruitment and Finance which, with our support, could give you options to progress your career in a range of directions. The main focus of the role will be to ensure that payroll is calculated accurately and to the agreed deadlines, meeting our contractual and statutory obligations including SSP, SMP, SPP, Pension contributions as well as relevant deductions. You will also support with month end, year end and ad hoc reporting. About you: You will have experience of working in a payroll function already. You could be a payroll specialist in a similar role or you may have payroll as part of a broader role - perhaps supporting a HR or Finance function. Ideally, you will have a payroll qualification. In addition you will have:- A good understanding of payroll legislation. Strong level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office and an HR or Payroll System You will be highly numerate and have excellent attention to detail and pride yourself on accuracy and meeting deadlines. You will also have great communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Finally, you will be self-motivated, confident, hard-working and have exceptional customer service skills.
