Job Description:
The Role
KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables), and Chemicals. As our clients face unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty, our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.
Our clients include some of the largest global ENR companies, both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work involves deal advisory support, international tax, and domestic tax advice. A successful candidate will have opportunities to work across these areas.
Our Deal Advisory Tax services include advisory across the deal spectrum, including company/sell-side vendor assistance, refinancing, due diligence, buy-side due diligence, and structuring. We help clients understand historical tax issues and structure transactions, focusing on maximizing value throughout the investment cycle. Our work often involves multiple countries, taxes, and work streams, requiring collaboration across the KPMG network.
In tax advisory, we support clients with business and fiscal changes, including new jurisdiction entry, development of new business areas, reorganizations, refinancing, leasing, windfall taxes, and global fiscal changes like BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2.
