Registered Mental Health Nurse - Forensic services
We are the only forensic inpatient unit within the Trust, and we have a wonderful opportunity for a Band 5 Registered nurse in the unit.
The unit is a 20-bedded male forensic low secure unit; we have two wards, an 8 bedded admissions and assessment ward and a 12 bedded rehabilitation ward (still within the low secure umbrella).
The team provides 24-hour inpatient support for our patients, who suffer from severe and enduring mental illnesses, have a history of offending behaviour, often a forensic history and require a low secure provision due to risks to others (the public) and at times themselves.
You would be working as part of a close team, being able to provide an effective, high quality and evidenced based pathway to support our patients through their low secure pathway, considering risk and aiming for discharge into the community.
We work closely with the forensic community teams, our provider collaborative IMPACT (Commissioners), other secure services and are part of the Quality Network Forensic Mental Health Services with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Experience in forensic / secure services would be a high advance or a keen interest in the area with some knowledge. You should be passionate to help all patients to gain and maintain optimum mental and health, and support rehabilitation safely into the community.
