Well-regarded law firm in Bristol is seeking to recruit a Regulatory (Health & Safety) Solicitor or Barrister of 0 to 3 years’ PQE/Call. The team are specialists in Health, Safety and Environment work. They are interested in candidates who have experience of dealing with regulatory issues for clients including investigations and prosecutions by the Police, HSE, Local Authorities, Fire Authorities, Environment Agency, CQC and other regulators. The successful candidate would ideally have at least some experience of inquests, preparing PACE submissions to regulators, interviewing witnesses and providing non-contentious advice to clients on compliance issues. They deal with all aspects of advice and defence and have a busy practice involving a number of high-profile cases and investigations. They a diverse range of clients across all the major industries and regularly receive top-quality instructions and a varied and sustainable pipeline of work. The team works with lawyers in other practice groups, where their skills and sector knowledge complement each others.
The successful candidate will work on a busy and varied case load encompassing a range of contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues for a variety of clients. You will have your own caseload of smaller matters and assist on larger cases alongside the wider team. Ideally you will have at least some experience of advising on regulatory work including – HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquests. Experience of areas such as environmental breaches, trading standards, food safety and fire safety would also be beneficial. Our client will also consider candidates with other relevant experience. You will also be expected to assist on the business development and networking activities of the team.
