We have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our Vascular Surgery specialty within the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Care Group at UHS.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual with sound clinical knowledge, proven leadership skills and an interest in Vascular Surgery to join our existing team of ACP’s.
The Vascular ACP team provide high quality, safe and effective ward-based clinical care for patients pre and post vascular surgery. The ACP’s play a pivotal role in patient assessment, ordering and interpretation of appropriate investigations, and development of treatment plans, including non medical prescribing. The ACP service not only benefits our patients in terms of continuity and quality of care, but provides our patients with prompt admissions, seamless inpatient care and improved discharges, thus improving the patient experience and reducing length of hospital stay. The Vascular ACP service covers up until 8:30pm seven days a week.
Trainee ACP’s will be expected to complete a Masters degree in advanced clinical practice either via a University apprenticeship or University modular route over 3-5 years.

Main duties of the job additional:
You will need to have a high level of experience in acute practice, sound clinical knowledge, proven leadership skills, and be prepared to undertake a lengthy course of study to achieve your Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.

The role is very well supported by the Consultant team who provide Consultant ward rounds seven days a week.
As a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner you are expected to work within the 4 pillars of advanced Practice (Multi-Professional framework for advanced Clinical practice in England, Health Education England, 2017):
• Expert clinical practice
• Leadership and management, in order to improve and transform services.
• Research – application of existing research and contributing to new research.
• Education and Development of self and others.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse or Allied Health Professional with an interest in Vascular Surgery. Experience of independent clinical assessment and decision making is advantageous.
Trainee Advanced clinical practitioners will be expected to commence an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, this will be supported by the senior ACP/Consultant in order to meet the capabilities required for this role.
You will need to be able to offer flexibility and to be able to work Monday-Sunday 7.30am-8.30pm to cover the service.
