We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Analyst to join our team, specialising in data, analytics, and in sights. This pivotal role involves driving key business projects from conception to completion, to help drive forward some of our most challenging and exciting data and analytics initiatives within the Global Cyber team in the Specialty insurance division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong experience in data and business analy sis within the insurance and cyber sector s. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for fostering collaborative environments, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Howden's Specialty Cyber data and analytics initiatives and fostering relationships with clients, partners, markets and across Howden. You will be a part of the Global Cyber broking team focused on delivering the best value for our clients and building your respective specialist practice. Responsibilities Solve problems and create new opportunities using data. Generate insights and build case studies for existing clients and internal teams Use specialist tools to manipulate data into meaningful and actionable insights in a timely manner Analys e data to identify trends Research new ways to make use of data Engag e with other data teams across the group, including the Data team in IT and external vendors Study the different solution(s) that meet the demand, in partnership with the IT teams, and functional and technical architects. Prototype data requirements with business users and work with business stakeholders to refine requirements into technical deliverables establish a timetable for job completion Monitor developments and ensur e that the implementation corresponds to needs Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly Create documentation where and follow company standards Understand data warehousing principles such as Star Schemas, Reporting views, ETL Perform data profiling on different data sources to validate the accuracy and completeness of data Design the target data model based on the reporting requirements. Work closely with source system SMEs to extract the data for the target data model Create source to target mapping document for the ETL development Represent the team in internal cyber forums with regards to project related matters. Knowledge/Experience Previous experience of working as a Data Analyst in data, analytics and insights roles Preference will be given to applicants who have worked in an insurance ( Specialty Insurance sector; London Market and/or globally ) and cyber environment s Background in maths/statistics/sciences Analytical thinking for converting data requests into data products Familiar with the principles of UX/UI Knowledge of a European language is a plus Excellent communication skills are to communicate needs with client and internal teams successfully Data mapping, data management and data operations fundamentals Experience of end-to-end process mapping/gap analysis In-depth experience in MS Excel, Python, SQL and/or R, Databricks Familiar with PowerBI and/or other visualisation tools.
