Key Responsibilities: • Estimating & Quotations: Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for uPVC windows, doors, conservatories, warm roofs, and extensions based on client requirements and site assessments. • Product Knowledge: Utilize extensive product knowledge of uPVC windows, composite doors, conservatories, and warm roofs to advise clients and ensure accurate estimates. • Site Visits: Conduct site surveys and measurements to evaluate the scope of work required for installations. • Customer Consultation: Engage with customers to discuss their needs and offer product recommendations that align with their budget and specifications. • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural and technical drawings to ensure estimates align with the intended designs. • Cost Management: Calculate material, labor, and other costs to provide competitive yet profitable pricing for each project. • Scheduling: Work closely with the project management and installation teams to ensure the timely delivery and execution of projects. • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of quotes, proposals, and communications with customers. • Customer Follow-Up: Provide follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction and clarify any aspects of the quote or product details. • Compliance: Ensure all estimates adhere to relevant industry standards and safety requirements, including energy-efficient building requirements. Key Skills & Requirements: • Experience: Proven experience as an estimator in the uPVC or home improvement sector, with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience. • Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of uPVC windows, composite doors, conservatories, and warm roofs. • Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate estimates. • Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and explain products and services to clients in a clear and approachable manner. • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in measurements, calculations, and the preparation of quotations. • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • IT Skills: Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word). • Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements, particularly in relation to energy-efficient products. Desirable Attributes: • FENSA Certification: Experience working within the framework of FENSA or similar industry certifications. • CAD Experience: Familiarity with CAD or similar design software for reading and creating design plans is a plus. • Sales Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing sales role, with the ability to upsell additional products or services.
