Moving and Handling Trainer - Trustwide - Full or Part time or Job share.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5's Healthcare professionals to join us to assist in the provision of an expert specialised Manual Handling service.
To undertake a supporting role to the Moving and Handling Advisory Service (MHAS) and to assist in the provision of an expert specialised service of training, advice and support regarding moving and handling of people and objects.
Main duties of the job
The suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for moving and handling. It is essential that you are a good communicator and be physically fit enough to perform equipment demonstrations and manoeuvres on a regular basis.
As the suitable candidate will be expected to work across the whole trust, a driving license is essential.
Job Responsibilities
1. To undertake a supporting role to the Moving and Handling Advisory Service (MHAS) and to assist in the provision of an expert specialised service of training, advice and support regarding moving and handling of people and objects.
2. To assist in the development of moving and handling services and delivering exemplary clinical practice in all areas of the Trust, contributing to the reduction of moving and handling incidents across the Trust and to patient and staff safety.
3. To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organizational boundaries.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Membership of a professional body (e.g. RCN, CSP, COT, etc.)
Experience & Knowledge
* Interest in/ experience with moving and handling assessment and planning
* Proven experience working with patients/service users in care pathways and their practical applications and outcomes
* Some experience of supervision of others
* Some experience of integrated care team work
* Some experience in statistical analysis
Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of practical teaching experience
Personal Attributes
* Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
* Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
Other Requirements
* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
* Membership of a relevant interest group, e.g. National Back Exchange
