The WEB at Rockingham, is our new 528,000 shared user facility, designed to deliver highly automated end-to-end eFulfilment services to multiple customers, enabled by a cloud-based WMS.
We are looking for several experienced Warehouse Shift Managers to support with peak delivery, on fixed term contracts until 31st January 2025.
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, Shift Managers lead a team of Warehouse Team Managers and are responsible for the team achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI’s for the purpose of ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to our customers.
Salary of £37,000 to £40,000 per annum plus benefits.
Shifts are any 5 from 7 and rotating 06.00am – 14.00pm / 14.00pm – 22.00pm
Includes some weekends.
How will you contribute?
1. To manage the operation within your daily area of responsibility, managing a team of Warehouse Team Managers.
2. Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI’s to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to our customers.
3. To manage and motivate the team by giving direction and leadership monitoring performance to ensure the site achieves high performance levels.
4. Ensure the site complies with health and safety regulations.
5. Ensure any disciplinary action is carried out following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis by leading by example.
6. Use the start of shift briefing to engage with the staff and discuss in detail any H&S issues, shift productivity and focus points.
7. Foster a culture where accountability & H&S are paramount across the operational teams.
8. Manage absence, sickness & holidays, conduct & performance in line with the company & site policies & procedures.
What will you bring?
9. Safety focused and passionate about the welfare of our people.
10. Previous management experience of high-volume warehouse operations, preferably in an automated environment and alongside transport operations would be advantageous.
11. Successful delivery of operational and service performance KPI’s.
12. Experience of people leadership include direct management.
13. Previous experience/knowledge of a WMS management system would be an advantage.
