Job summary
Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a temporary healthcare assistant to join the practice for approximately 6 months, to support the nursing team, on a part-time basis, for approximately hours per week. The annual salary for these hours is £7,436.
Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Main duties of the job
- be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
1. venepuncture, phlebotomy checks
2. new patient health checks;
3. clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms;
4. preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations;
5. providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers;

6. Successful completion of the Care Certificate
7. Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent

8. A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.

11. Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post;
12. Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills;
13. Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
14. Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
15. Strong organisational and time management skills.
