Overview
Our client, a reputable and growing company based in Slough, is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team. This role is crucial in managing the company's accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Invoice Management: Process and verify a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Payment Processing: Manage and execute weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring all payments are made accurately and on time.
* Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Vendor Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, handling queries and disputes professionally and promptly.
* Reporting: Prepare accounts payable reports, including aged creditor analysis, and assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, with experience in a senior or supervisory role being advantageous.
* Qualifications: AAT qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent; a degree in finance or accounting is desirable.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
* Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, especially when processing transactions and reconciling accounts.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with both vendors and internal stakeholders.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
