In this role, you will bring your expertise in accountancy and financial advisory services to tackle complex issues within allocated service areas. Supporting project-based assignments will be a key part of your responsibilities, requiring a strategic mind-set and a collaborative approach. You will advise and influence senior-level managers and stakeholders on intricate financial matters, contribute to strategic financial planning processes and be involved in financial training strategy and evaluation. You will utilise IT-based financial management systems and have the ability to handle and analyse large volumes of data using Microsoft Office software and tools. Please note this role does not attract sponsorship. About you You are a seasoned professional with in depth, demonstrable experience in accountancy and financial advisory roles. Your background includes working with IT-based financial management systems and managing large, complex spreadsheets. You have experience with project-based assignments and are adept at advising and influencing senior stakeholders on complex financial issues. Your ability to perform accurate numerical reasoning through detailed financial calculations sets you apart. You work well both independently and as part of a team, and you can adapt to changing service demands. You can apply your knowledge of accountancy principles to local authority accounting practice. You have an understanding of equal opportunities and their integration into service delivery. You hold a full AAT qualification in Accounting or an equivalent qualification, or you have significant relevant demonstrable accounting experience.
