If you really want to make your mark in a school that is committed to improving the lives of children and young people, we have the role for you. This is a special opportunity for an exceptional leader. Netherhall Learning Campus High School is a local authority maintained school with over 750 students on roll. The community we serve is diverse and socially and economically disadvantaged. Despite the challenges we face, we have high ambitions for all the pupils who attend our school. “Success for All” is not just a tag line but the ethos, vision and values by which all decisions are guided.
We have undergone a journey of improvement but there is still more to do. We require someone who is driven; someone who is able to recognise and build on current strengths whilst leading a culture of continuous improvement. We are looking to appoint a senior school leader with recent high-level experience of leading secondary school development. You must believe that every pupil can realise their true potential with the right support, curriculum and teaching in place. You will be committed and ambitious with a proven record of school improvement and will have a relentless focus on the quality of teaching and delivering the national curriculum. You will establish a culture that promotes excellence, equity and high expectations for all pupils.
You will report to the Head of School and will lead on all areas of SEND including curriculum development, teaching and learning and school outcomes, whilst providing challenge and support. You will be required to develop a framework for SEND improvement working alongside members of SLT and heads of department. The aim is to raise standards through excellent teaching, agreed intervention strategies and the production of resources whilst promoting high expectations and standards.
We would like to hear from you if:
1. You have leadership experience and the ability to challenge, inspire and motivate colleagues and our students
2. You are an excellent communicator and able to work successfully with both internal and external stakeholders
3. You have high standards and expectations of yourself and others, and are able to lead by example
4. You are imaginative, innovative, resourceful and a decisive leader
5. You can build and maintain trusting relationships with the key stakeholders including staff, parents, and students
6. You share our passion for education, and can demonstrate a clear strategic vision
7. You can demonstrate how you have improved the quality of education in your current setting
8. You have a clear vision, highest integrity, and the commitment to help every student achieve their potential, not only academically or socially, but as young citizens who value and contribute to our community
In return we can offer you:
1. Students who flourish in the atmosphere of engaging, exciting learning opportunities in our safe, secure and caring environment.
2. A talented staff team that welcome new challenges and are committed to supporting colleagues and students
3. Opportunities to work in genuine collaboration with Kirklees Local Authority and Kirklees schools
4. A supportive community and Governing Body
5. A comprehensive induction programme
6. Access to the staff Wellbeing ‘Employee Healthcare Programme’ and benefits of working for Kirklees
7. Most importantly, a once in a lifetime opportunity to make your mark on the education of our students over many years to come
