Registered Manager – Children's Home
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Salary: £55,000 per annum DOE
£5,000 Annual Quality and Commercial Bonus

Meridian Business Support is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-rated GOOD children’s home in Sutton Coldfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of young people in care while growing within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
Your Role as a Registered Manager
As the leader of this home, you will:
1. Develop tailored care plans addressing young people’s needs holistically.
2. Build & retain a strong, motivated team with recruitment support.
3. Foster consultation & engagement with young people on their care.
4. Assign Key Workers to ensure effective care plan implementation.
5. Maintain high-quality standards in line with regulatory requirements.
6. Handle concerns & complaints, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
7. Collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to promote welfare.
8. Attend and contribute to care planning & review meetings.
9. Promote and uphold a safe, nurturing, and positive culture for the children in your care.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Passion – A genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people.
2. Experience – Minimum of 2 years in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
3. Qualifications
Essential: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care
Preferred: Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare. If not held, you must enrol within 6 months of starting.
4. Knowledge – Understanding of Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
5. Skills – Strong planning, organisation, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
6. Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Trauma Awareness – Understanding of children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, including challenging behaviour management.
8. Full UK Manual Driving Licence – Required for this role.
