Stanton Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a Dispensary Manager to work alongside our Clinical Services and Operations/HR Managers. Together the management team will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with the two GP Partners. The management team will also liaise regularly to look at ways to continually develop the practice in line with the Partners’ vision.
We are a rural dispensing and training practice located in the village of Stanton, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside close to Bury St Edmunds. We serve a stable population of approximately 5300 patients.
We are looking for a confident and personable Manager to work alongside our clinical teams who will always strive to make a difference for the patients registered with us, and who is a team player. You will be responsible for managing the practice’s busy dispensary. We were one of the first dispensaries in the country to switch to using EPS rather than paper prescriptions, using Invatech’s TITAN software, and we have recently installed a BD Rowa Easyload Dispensing Robot, with a 24 hour collection point. All dispensing processes are computerised, including our controlled drugs register for which we use software which links to TITAN to ensure no entries are missed. The IT in place ensures the smoothest possible service for patients, with a turnaround time of 24-48 hours for repeat prescription requests.
We are a two partner GMS practice. We offer a supportive happy environment, and last year we were approved as a GP training practice. We already have GP trainees working alongside us, and in the future we aim to host nursing students also.
We have a team of three nurses, and work closely with our PCN colleagues who visit the surgery weekly, such as a Social Prescriber, Mental Health link worker, Primary Mental Health worker and Physiotherapist. We are part of Blackbourne PCN which consists of four rural practices. A Diabetes Nurse Specialist also visits monthly and holds a clinic at the practice. We have also recently recruited two Urgent Care Practitioners.
1. Our reception and administrative teams provide excellent support to our clinical teams.
2. We work in modern purpose-built premises, which have recently been extended and provide a bright and airy setting in which to work.
3. Our clinical system is SystmOne.
4. We are rated GOOD across all areas by CQC.
5. We actively encourage informal visits to meet our friendly team.
Pay – £17.24 per hour, £33,170 per annum.
37 hours per week
