The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Compensation Program Manager as part of the global Sales Compensation team. This role will facilitate the end-to-end sales compensation processes for the European segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of sales compensation programs that align with the company's business objectives and drive sales performance across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Partner and work closely with Sales leadership, Portfolio, Business Intelligence, FP&A, Human Resources and Legal teams to execute on new and existing sales compensation design and to ensure seamless integration and administration of compensation programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and market competitiveness.
2. Coordinate with Business Intelligence and FP&A teams to conduct regular analyses of sales performance and payout data to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation plans and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
3. Ensure all compensation plans comply with local regulations and company policies and be responsible for enforcing policies and administration. Familiarity with European Workers' Councils is a must.
4. Clearly communicate compensation plans and changes to sales teams, providing training and support as needed.
5. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in sales compensation to continuously enhance our programs.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders that are part of the sales incentive compensation management process.
2. 3+ years demonstrated project management experience/skills and in-depth knowledge of end-to-end sales compensation plan processes and procedures.
3. Planning and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables to tight timelines.
4. Hard-working and diligent personality with strong analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive compensation information.
5. Superior written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Functional experience with an ICM/SPM system: SAP Commissions, Xactly, Varicent, Oracle, etc.
8. Familiarity with the sales cycle and CRM experience: C4C, SFDC, Dynamics, Qlik, etc.
9. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
10. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field with 3+ years' experience in sales compensation or sales operations, preferably in a multinational environment. Advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
11. Must be able to travel (5-10% within region).
