In the Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) Platform, our mission is to reduce harm to our communities by enhancing the Group's capability to prevent, detect and respond to economic crime. The Platform sits within Consumer Relationships and plays a critical role in providing services across the whole Group.
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Engineer to join our dynamic Service Run team. As a Database Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our applications and IT systems. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and manage database solutions, analyze data, and collaborate with other teams to address related issues.
What you’ll do
1. Provide database/application administration and support as and when required.
2. Management of Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres Databases.
3. Administration of applications.
4. Providing DBA and Application support services.
5. Setup, management, and support of databases and applications.
6. Producing standard documentation and procedures.
7. Problem management, working to eliminate repeat incidents.
8. Ensure compliance with quality standards.
9. Available to work and operate within call-out structure for out-of-hours and some weekend working requirements.
10. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance of databases.
11. Line management of two other database engineers, providing coaching, support, and direction.
What you’ll need
1. Database administration, upgrades, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
2. An ability to provide application services, upgrades, and administration.
3. Analytical and organized.
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. An adaptable attitude, wanting to provide a good service.
6. Good communication and client-facing/customer service skills.
7. Support and provide technical advice on these technologies and promote best practices to the wider team.
It would be great if you also had
1. Oracle Accreditation.
2. SQL Server Accreditation.
3. Experience with SQL Server 2012+ would be beneficial.
