A long-term opportunity inside IR35 exists for a Site Planner on a major civils project. Your previous mainstream delivery experience prior to your planning experience will benefit you for this role.
Civil/Site Engineers with previous delivery experience, looking to further develop their career in planning are also welcomed to apply however they must have had previous basic planning skills and P6 knowledge.
Duties include -
Create the baseline program in conjunction with the delivery team using first principles as well as your civil engineering practical experience and knowledge.
Supporting operational teams with collaborative planning, risk management, and commercial issues. (Driving the works through the program)
Resource and cost load programmes in order to establish and maintain internal and external project controls reporting.
Assessing supply chain and subcontractor schedules and programs
Developing and maintaining a 4D programme.
Introduce and analyse changes in programmes in accordance with site activities.
Produce and communicate programme information in a variety of formats, using routine and bespoke programme outputs including Power BI
Collect and distribute feedback.
Present programme information clearly
Ensure compliance with the business processes and systems.
Undertake analytical assessment of programmes.
Core Skills required for this post include -
Previous hands-on delivery experience for a UK tier one principal civil engineering contractor as a Site Engineer/Sub Agent/ Agent.
Competent at creating a baseline program from first principles using your hands on civil engineering construction experience.
Proficient in critical path analysis, earned value management, S-Curve generation, resource planning, delay analysis, project recovery, EOT claims, early warning and compensation events.
A Civil Engineering qualification.
A good understanding of commercial including typical production rates as well as contractual matters.
A clear ability for logical thinking and working in an ordered fashion.
Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques using P6 on NEC contracts.
The ability to communicate and report the program effectively.
Previous experience on large highly regulated projects like MOD, Nuclear, Network Rail etc is advantageous
The ability to work to a defined, often challenging, timescales.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships on projects and interface with operational teams and suppliers.
Support the commercial teams on projects.
Take ownership and contribute to planning, programme and risk from the design phase through to project completion.
