Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Mechanical Fitters and Technicians from a production engineering background interested in joining our client in Sittingbourne as a Shift Maintenance Fitter.
Working on a pattern of 2 days 2 nights, 4 off (12-hour shifts) you will carry out maintenance and repair works on conveyors and recycling processing machinery on a preventative and reactive basis.

Duties
* Shift pattern 4 on 4 off days and nights.
* To work alongside the Maintenance Manager in carrying out duties to help in the running of the maintenance department.
* Promote the maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
* Identify areas for improvement and put proposals forward to achieve the improvements.
* Communicate plans for upper-level improvements to maintenance worker staff.
* Help train and motivate employees from the maintenance department in the upkeep and running of MeWa and CRT.
* Work with the Shift Managers and all teams within the plant to best optimise production and schedule repairs.
* Fabricate new parts and system as discussed with the Maintenance Manager.
* Fabricate parts as required by the Fitters to keep the plant running.
Applicant Profile
* Mechanical maintenance experience working in an industrial processing facility, ideally the recycling sector.
* Ideally previous welding/fabrication experience (MIG preferred).
* Experience with working with plant and machinery.
* Willing to work in a dusty environment.
* Experience of maintaining consistency in process and some experience of implementing new processes.
* Must be computer literate (i.e. Excel, Outlook).
* Have a Forklift Licence or willing to learn (training will be provided).
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Environment legislation ideally gained in waste/metals industry.
