Capgemini Engineering is looking to recruit a number of mechanical design engineers. As a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience within the space industry, you will be fundamental to our ability to deliver to the customer and client. Our customer expectations are high; as such we are looking for adaptive, driven people to deliver on time to the required quality.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will initially be required to work on-site at the client's office in Stevenage. Thereafter, you will have opportunities to work remotely, hybrid, and full-time on-site for future projects. You will be working with the latest tools, 3DEXPERIENCE and in-house client tools that have been developed to provide a range of exciting technical solutions.

Your Role
You will be a Mechanical Design Engineer working on very high-profile projects. You will use creative problem-solving skills, work in a team environment, and be comfortable communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Capgemini Engineering businesses.
Other key responsibilities include:
* 3D modelling and 2D drafting using CAD packages
* Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes
* Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team
* Liaising with the design team and proposing new concepts and improvements
* Working within a team that collectively is responsible for end-to-end spacecraft structure sub-system throughout the design
* Establishing technical definition of the spacecraft structure sub-system or component as part of the overall system
* Establishing interfacing components and sub-assemblies
* Continuously monitoring progress, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues for the sub-system and component
