Full-Time Music Teacher – Secondary School GSL Education are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This is a full-time role, available to start from February/Easter, depending on notice periods. The pay rate for this position ranges between £30k to £50k per year, based on experience, from ECT through to the Upper Pay Scale. A permanent contract will be offered after a successful probation period. Responsibilities of a Music Teacher : Teach Music across key stages, including theory, composition, and performance. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that encourage creativity and musical growth. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support for their development. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that inspires students to explore their musical talents. Lead or support extracurricular music activities, including school concerts and performances. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative approach to music education. Promote student well-being and support their development both in and outside the classroom. Required Qualifications for a Music Teacher : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A strong passion for music and excellent subject knowledge. Experience teaching Music at the secondary school level (ECTs welcome). Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and inspiring music education environment. Ability to engage students in both individual and group music activities. A proactive, team-orientated approach to teaching and school life. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
