Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the CORE CAMHS team based in Boston. As clinical lead, you will provide expert knowledge within areas of specialism in relation to young people’s mental health and support the clinical team to develop their roles and the provision of care within the community setting.
You will be required to work jointly with the Team Manager in supporting the delivery of high standards of clinical care for young people experiencing an acute episode of mental health deterioration. This includes ensuring improved physical health monitoring, care delivery, and parity of esteem.
You will also work closely with the Team Manager to ensure young people are accessing treatment in a timely manner, as well as providing leadership and working in partnership with service users, their carers, colleagues across Children's and Young Persons Services, and external agencies such as schools and Social Care.
You will provide effective formulation, clinical supervision, management supervision, and play an active part, jointly with the Team Manager, in the professional development of the clinical team.
You will hold a case load of complex cases and lead on the development of a transition pathway across the CAMHS service, supporting a seamless journey for children and young people.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include:
* Leading the team in the clinical delivery of care.
* Demonstrating the ability to effectively influence the clinical dimensions of service development.
* Using specialist knowledge to deal effectively with newly encountered clinical situations.
* Working with individuals to assess their mental health, recognize mental illness, and identify their related needs and circumstances; enabling them to understand, manage, and where appropriate, change their behavior by linking them with evidence-based treatment pathways.
* Planning, implementing, reviewing, and improving interventions and treatment pathways to meet people’s identified needs and manage their inherent risk with comprehensive Clinical Risk Formulation and care planning.
* Assessing carers’ and families' needs and developing, implementing, and reviewing programs of support for carers and families.
* Protecting people from abuse, neglect, and harm.
* Leading for transitions, improving the quality of a young person's discharge from services, ensuring they are supported to maintain their wellbeing into adulthood.
* Providing clinical leadership for young people who are leaving care, ensuring their care is seamless as they move into adulthood.
* Supporting transitions of young people to adult services.
* Developing clinical practice having due regard to the NICE Guidelines in respect of treatment for mental health disorders in children and adolescents.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional qualification in relevant field and accredited member of BACP or equivalent level of accreditation with NMC, UKCP, CPC, IPTUK, NCS
* Mentorship Module or equivalent teaching/supervision training
* Evidence of specialized continued professional training (degree level) in relevant clinical practice
* Evidence of specialized continued professional training in clinical practice (MSc or Degree)
Experience
* Relevant experience of working with young people with mental health needs or clear evidence of substantial experience of working with individuals feeling in crisis/with complex needs/risk issues, and skills that are transferable to community settings.
* Highly developed clinical reasoning skills
* Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health
* Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.
* Experience of working autonomously within a senior position
* Experience of managing staff and good leadership skills
* Experience of working across organizations
* Sound knowledge of community care issues, local health and social structures, functions, and boundaries
* Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act
* Experience of working within a Hospital environment
* Working knowledge of Assessment tools
* Working with people who have self-harm/suicidal ideation
* Experience of teaching in a formal or informal setting
