Job Responsibilities:
1. Strive to achieve outstanding, best in class Hygiene performance, maintaining the correct factory hygiene standards and customer satisfaction with factory cleanliness.
2. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene, quality, and food safety standards.
3. Lead and coach the Hygiene team’s performance.
4. Ensure the completion of hygiene schedules to maintain high standards in the factory and environment.
5. Implement, maintain, and improve required quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
6. Continually re-evaluate hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, practices, and equipment in line with best practices.
7. Develop and train all site hygiene activities with Hygiene Members to maximize their potential.
8. Present documentation to customers to support the Hygiene Operation including Chemical Data Sheets, Training Records, and completion/sign off.
9. Ensure all work conforms to the processes and procedures of the ‘Quality Management System’ and ‘Health and Safety Management Systems’.
10. Lead a team of hygiene operatives to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
11. Ensure deep cleans are completed in full and on time.
12. Eliminate and control pests across the site.
13. Involvement in external audits.
14. Deliver training for all operatives.
15. Adhere to Master Cleaning Schedules.
16. Control and manage the Hygiene budget in agreement with the Technical Manager.
Requirements & Experience:
1. A proven record of achievement in hygiene, quality, or food safety management.
2. Good understanding of Food Safety, Health and Safety, and COSHH.
3. Experience in a similar role within food and drink manufacturing.
4. Experience in leading and supporting a team of people.
5. Record of building and leading small teams within a technical, manufacturing, quality, or food safety context.
6. Excellent numeric, analytical, literacy, and problem-solving skills.
7. Understanding of BRC Technical Standards.
