£37,000 Basic + Bonus (OTE £43,000) + Fully equipped van
Permanent position, 40-hour week (between the hours of 7am - 8pm)
Call out based
4 days a week - 10 hours a day (occasional 1 in 3 weekend work OT paid)

Breakdown Mechanic / Roadside Technician - We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanic / Roadside Technician to join an industry leading automotive organisation on a permanent basis.
You will be contracted to work 40 hours over four days a week, starting on a shift pattern with operating hours between 7am and 8pm Monday to Sunday, with the opportunity to do overtime, if you choose. You will also receive a 5% bonus on completion of the probationary period.
Anyone from a very good practical mechanic or vehicle technician background would be
suitable for this position, as long as you can diagnose and fix mechanical issues with all
brands of cars.
You will be based at home, set up with everything you need as well as given a company vehicle. Once you receive a call from the breakdown provider, you will visit the customers location to diagnose the problem.
Ideally you will live in one of the following locations:
Northampton, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Cambridge, Daventry, Buckingham, Kettering, Wellingborough, Bedford or Huntingdon or surrounding.
The Job: Roadside Technician / Breakdown Mechanic
As a Roadside Mechanic / Roadside Technician you will be assisting customers who are experiencing issues with their vehicle, whether it be that they are out of fuel, require a tyre repair/change or a new battery, you will be ready and prepared to put their mind at rest and assist with a full kit on board to help them get back on the move.
You will need to diagnose the problem and the understand the requirements to resolve it and give them the confidence to head off on their journey with no further interruptions from their vehicle.
Ensure that all jobs are completed and delivered with excellent customer service and empathy.
Check that all parts are ordered as per estimate, to ensure that the repair can be completed without delay, returning all unused parts to the parts department for credit
Awareness & adherence to all necessary standards and H&S procedures
Ideally you will hold a certification Level 2 minimum in Light vehicle maintenance and repair or mechanics
