We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled individual to join the UK Internal Market team in the EU Services and Trade Directorate (EUST) as a Senior Executive Officer. This role will help shape the future of the management of the UK’s internal market and trade between the four nations of the UK, which is worth around 10% of GDP. Within the UK Internal Market (UKIM) team, you will ensure that the Government’s priorities for the management of the internal market are delivered by:
* Assisting the delivery of a statutory review of the UK Internal Market Act.
* Being responsible for certain policy areas that can interact with the UK internal market, working directly with the relevant policy leads in other Government Departments on policy developments and what the UKIM implications might be.
* Ensuring Ministers and senior officials are well-briefed for key meetings. This could include:
o management of the regular UKIM Programme Assurance Board senior officials’ meeting;
o management of the regular cross-Whitehall UKIM commission to populate and understand policies with potential UKIM interactions;
o upskilling sessions in UK Government Departments to improve policy expertise on UKIM.
* Establishing strong working relationships with analysts, lawyers, officials in other Government departments and in the Devolved Governments, with businesses and with other stakeholders.
