Behavioural LSA. We are currently recruiting for a Behavioural LSA on behalf of a good school in the Greater Portsmouth area. Experience with SEMH pupils aged 4 – 6 is preferential, however a proven ability to establish relationships with SEN children will also be considered. This role will see you working with children at a formulative time in in their lives, so an empathetic & calm demeanour is essential. The school ethos for their youngest pupils is for them to understand & be understood in mutual partnership with their teachers. This role will primarily be 1:1 support within the class for pupils most needing it. The role is not exclusively SEMH focussed however it will be a principal focus for the role. The successful applicant will have a proven ability for achieving positive outcomes with vulnerable and able students. The ability of the Behaviour LSA to build pupils self-confidence through support, encouragement and consistency is vital. The main reason most pupils attend this class is due to complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Challenging behaviour is a common presentation of these needs. This opportunity is well suited to a Behaviour LSA seeking experience to pursue further education and training in Psychology, Mental Health Support, Youth Work or Pastoral Care. The Behaviour LSA will have: Experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs Experience working in a school setting or managing challenging child behaviours.
