Location: The Oakwood Place, Essex
Salary: £44,498 pro rata based on a 42 being the FTE working week
Hours: 24 hours per week, flexible seven-day rota from 9am to 9pm.

The role of Sexual Offence Examiner (SOE) is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. We're looking for caring and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN), Midwives, Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN), or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.
As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
* Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
* Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
* 1st point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
* Manage and promote the self-referral pathway.
* Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
* Producing individual management plans.
* Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
* Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
* Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures.
Essential Skills Required:
* Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic.
* A minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
* Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.
* Phlebotomy skills.
* Experience of autonomous working.
* Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner role, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
* While the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across SARCs; therefore, a UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
* Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required.
