Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within Portsmouth Hospitals to join our busy Histopathology Department. We are looking to appoint an experienced senior Biomedical Scientist to lead our molecular referrals service and be a member of the histological dissection team. The candidate will need to be patient-focused, have a positive attitude and strong leadership skills to be successful at this role. Main duties of the job The department handles 43,000 histology requests per annum and the department comprises of routine histology including a large dissection area with 4 rooms, routine and special staining, immunohistochemistry, and renal pathology. We are using Vantage, have gone live with some Digital Pathology and are working on implementing a new LIMS, WinPath Enterprise in the near future. The department is fully UKAS accredited.
