About Us: As part of this transformation, we're looking for a skilled .NET Engineer to join our in-house development team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on modernisation projects, bring legacy systems up to date, and shape the future of our tech landscape. The Role: You’ll play a key role in both supporting and modernising our internal applications. We're looking for someone who can comfortably navigate and maintain legacy .NET systems while also driving the migration to .NET 6 and .NET 8 environments. You’ll be involved in: Maintaining and extending existing legacy .NET applications (.NET Framework) Designing and implementing modern, scalable applications using .NET Core / .NET 6 / .NET 8 Supporting system migration projects from older technologies to modern platforms Collaborating with cross-functional teams including operations and customer service to understand requirements Implementing best practices in software development, testing, and deployment Participating in code reviews and providing feedback to other developers What We’re Looking For: Strong experience with both legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET (Core, 6/7/8) Solid understanding of C# and object-oriented programming principles Experience working with SQL Server and writing performant queries Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) Previous experience working on migration or refactoring projects is highly desirable Front-end experience with technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and optionally modern frameworks (e.g., Angular or React) is a plus Knowledge of Azure or cloud-based hosting environments is a bonus Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders Location & Working Style: This is a hybrid role. We're looking for someone based in the North East who is comfortable travelling to our office in Houghton-le-Spring 1-2 days per week. Why Join Us?
