Job Overview: Our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, has retained our services to search for a Contract Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis for up to 6 months.
Role:
1. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will perform the day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance of plant equipment to include injection moulding machinery and associated ancillary equipment, ensuring continuity of production, consistent with the company’s goals and needs.
2. The successful candidate will have experience with plastic injection moulding machine maintenance with strong electrical/mechanical applications with proven experience of working within a structured maintenance programme whilst dealing with day-to-day breakdowns, faults and repairs.
3. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for this contract role to progress into a permanent position with the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Working on modern plastic injection moulding machine tools and ancillaries, you will be responsible for the proactive & reactive electro-mechanical maintenance of mould machines, ancillaries, jigs & fixtures, materials handling equipment, and general facilities maintenance.
2. Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical faults that occur on plant and/or equipment.
3. Assist with the maintenance programme for all plant and/or equipment.
4. Validate new plant equipment, automation, and upgrades.
5. Process/equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.
6. Ensure all items of plant and/or equipment are in good safe working order.
7. Strive to improve the efficiency and safety of plant and equipment.
8. Maintain a high standard of record keeping for all repairs and servicing of plant and/or equipment as required for audit, traceability, and warranty purposes, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Requirements:
1. Must have experience in plastic injection moulding maintenance & mould machinery equipment servicing.
2. A good working knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.
3. Qualified electrician with 16th/17th/18th Edition regulations or equivalent would be beneficial.
4. Logic fault-finding & problem-solving skills.
5. Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
6. Experience of reactive maintenance.
7. You will be a focused team player with a strong character with the aim to further improve the department.
