Our client, a specialist pupil referral unit in Nottingham, is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher. The unit serves students aged 7-14 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools.
The school provides outstanding teaching and learning, along with exceptional personal support, in a safe, inclusive, and child-focused environment. The dedicated staff are committed to helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
As an SEN Class Teacher, you will act as a mentor and role model, supporting students in achieving the best possible outcomes. This exciting opportunity has arisen as the school continues to pursue its goal of providing an exceptional education for all children.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Key duties include:
· Working towards the aims set out in each child's EHCP
· Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
· Work towards the aims set out in each child's EHCP
· Monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher
· Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
· Contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment
· Share and support the school's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal growth and enjoyment
The successful candidate will:
· Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and solid experience teaching.
· Be experienced working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment.
· Have experience working with 'vulnerable' young people and families
· Be flexible and approachable, remain resilient under pressure and show a positive and energetic attitude to work.
· Have a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for students and promoting a positive school culture.
