Tour Guide If you can picture yourself on an open-top double decker bus being driven around Edinburgh while thousands of visitors to the city hang on your every word, then Edinburgh Bus Tours would like to hear from you. Edinburgh Bus Tours, part of the Lothian family, is one of Scotland’s top paid-for visitor attractions and offers a five-star visitor experience. We help over 700,000 visitors each year create unforgettable memories as they discover our breath-taking Capital. We offer 3 different tours, each one creating a unique and unforgettable experience for our visitors. Our Guides are responsible for providing an entertaining and informative tour of Edinburgh on an open top bus; although no written script is provided, guidelines will be provided for the content of the tours. Guides must have the ability to interpret the cultural heritage of the city as well as having a passion for showing off Scotland’s Capital to the world. So, if you know when the 1 o’clock gun goes off? Or where the best spots are to catch a haggis? Then you’ll be able to answer some of the questions that our Tour Guides get asked. This is a seasonal position however there is the opportunity to return the following season. Tour Guide Requirements No experience required Our Tour Guides come from a wide variety of backgrounds however good cultural knowledge of Edinburgh and its history is desirable To be customer focused to understand, anticipate and deliver on the customers’ needs and expectations Excellent English verbal communication skills.
