Identity and Access Management Developer (Hiring Immediately)
Join us as a Software Engineer IAM at Barclays where you will support the acceleration of a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. This is an exciting and key role, partnering with business aligned engineering and product teams, to ensure a collaborative team culture is at the heart of what we do. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as solid experience in full stack development technologies including Java, React, API & microservices, PostgreSQL, knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, project exposure to Ping Identity and ForgeRock products, and overall IAM engineering experience (authentication, authorisation, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, user lifecycle management, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, policy management).
Additional relevant skills include cloud computing (AWS, Azure), experience in DevSecOps, knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform), containerization, and knowledge of authentication and biometric system design. This role will be based out of our London office.
Purpose of the role:
* To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities:
* Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
* Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
* Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
* Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
* Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
* Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
* Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
* Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
* Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, requiring understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
