Night Care Assistant 24 hr/wk @ £14.50/hr in Blackburn - FTE - £28.3k - Blackburn - BB1
We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Blackburn area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client living with a learning disability to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home and the community. Our client has a wide range of interests particularly getting out in the community and attending day centres.
You will be working as part of a small team, and will work on a 2:1 basis for moving and handling tasks.
Your contracted hours will be: 24 hours per week (1:1) (waking night)
You must be comfortable being around animals as there are pets in the client's home (cats and dogs).
A car driver will be preferred to enable our client to attend day centres and other activities.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. Who we are looking for:
You must be self-motivated, well-organised, reliable, and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:
* Gastronomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluid, and medication.
* Having a clean, full driving licence is desirable, as there is the use of a mobility vehicle.
* Personal care, including incontinence pad changes and measures to maintain skin integrity.
* Moving and Handling (including hoisting).
* Dystonia and Flails.
* Domestic duties (Food prep, laundry, cleaning).
* Monitoring of general health and well-being, & daily record keeping.
* Communication support.
You should also have:
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
Due to the nature of a personal caring role and working in an individual’s home, sometimes alongside family members, Personal Assistants may be required to deal with difficult situations and/or challenging behaviour on occasions, which should be approached in a calm and professional manner.
