It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence In 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Maintenance Electrician. This role will involve working as part of the maintenance team, carrying out repairs and planned maintenance on foundry and pattern shop equipment.
Role Responsibilities
* Maintenance of all plant equipment including but not limited to:
o Cranes
o Sand Mixers
o Heat Treatment Furnaces
o Shot blast machinery
o Hydraulics
* Working at Height or confined spaces
* Mentoring apprentices
* Involvement in Lean Manufacturing projects and initiatives
About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
* Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer
* Trained to 17th edition regulations and standards
* Good knowledge of Electrical Installation
* Fault finding skills on both D.C and A.C controls
* Conversant with both predictive and planned maintenance techniques
* Experience working on heavy industrial equipment (e.g. overhead cranes, AC, DC)
* Willing and able to work shifts
Days/Hours of Work
Average of 37 hours per week: Mornings - Monday to Friday 6am to 1pm. Afternoons - Monday to Friday 1pm to 8pm. Nights - Monday to Thursday 7.45pm to 6am
