We are looking for a Forklift Lead interested in starting a career as part of our Warehouse team at PIM’s Somerset site in New Jersey. This position will report to our Supervisor, Warehouse.
Job Overview:
Responsible for executing daily functions and projects which involve all materials in the warehouse. Ensures material movements, transfers, and distribution are performed efficiently and accurately. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports. Conducts Warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures and policies and keeps the Warehouse manager informed of activities. Completes miscellaneous support functions and supports area personnel as required.
Qualifications:
1. Know and understand safety policies and procedures.
2. The ability to teach, coach, counsel, and enforce the safety policies and procedures of PIM Brands.
3. Coordinates all warehouse material management consisting of raw material and packaging.
4. Schedules work assignments and projects to all warehouse shifts.
5. Inventory evaluations, cycle counting, and monitoring inventory.
6. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP.
7. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules.
8. Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMPs.
9. Schedules and coordinates vendor inbound materials to Pierce St. & Cottontail locations.
10. Performs system transfers of materials and put-away.
11. Receiving of materials and non-consumables and entered into the system.
12. Enforces the implementation of workplace policies and procedures.
13. Promotes and exhibits safe work behaviors.
14. Coaches, counsels, mentors, and trains staff in accordance with warehouse policies, procedures, and GMPs.
15. Resends information on productivity, efficiency, and safety performance to Warehouse Manager.
16. Works with other managers and supervisors to improve production output and quality.
17. Performs other duties as required.
18. Ability to work additional hours as needed.
Education, Experience, and Training:
1. High School education or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred.
2. Excellent leadership abilities.
3. Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities.
4. Strong problem-solving skills.
5. Able to read and write English.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Able to operate PC and use Microsoft Office Applications: Word and Excel.
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word essential.
Job will generally be performed in the warehouse. When on the plant floor, it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eyewear, and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.
