The Opportunity
As a Health and Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the commissioning program meets all relevant statutory health and safety regulations, identifying any instances of non-compliance, and offering guidance on how to address these issues.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Contribute to maintaining and enhancing Health, Safety, and Environmental performance by managing risks throughout the Commissioning program.
Review Commissioning RAMS and offer technical safety guidance to Commissioning team members to mitigate or eliminate risks and hazards to people, equipment, and the environment.
Provide advice and assistance in generating relevant Health and Safety performance reports, identifying trends, spotting potential issues early, and recommending appropriate actions.
Develop and maintain Health and Safety risk profiles, and conduct related risk assessments, inspections, and assurance activities.
Actively engage as a collaborative member of the Health and Safety team across the HPC Project.
Support the implementation of Health and Safety arrangements outlined in the Health and Safety Plan during the Commissioning phase at HPC.
Actively assist in monitoring health and safety surveillance within the Commissioning and Commissioning DMIC scope, raising concerns where necessary and documenting them accordingly.You will have the following qualifications & experience
NEBOSH HSE Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1.5 years' experience.
Good communication skills with the ability to develop wide network and working relationships.
Health and Safety experience including within a large project environment.
Good focus on identifying risks/hazards and implications with provide mitigations using process.
Able to produce high quality records and reports, providing safety assurance through communication of HSE data and information.
Competent in using Microsoft applications and an aptitude to learn new software packages
Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of national and international HSE standards.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
