Location: Nottingham / Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Negotiable dependant on experience and level plus package including
1. 25 days annual leave: Plus bank holidays

Summary
A major civil engineering contractor providing a wide range of specialist contracting services to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects throughout the UK is seeking a Civil Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of civil engineering.
As a successful candidate you will be methodical and organised with the ability to recognise and source additional resources required to produce estimates, recognise submission requirements to compile a logical sequence of actions necessary to achieve regular deadlines with a background in Tier 1 or 2 infrastructure and experience in estimating / pricing projects across a variety of civil engineering projects.

* Experience: Proven experience in pricing General Civil Engineering and Highways tenders.
* Knowledge: A deep understanding of civil engineering and the construction industry.
* Confidence: Independently pricing projects with minimal reliance on others.
* Direct and concise: Exceptional analytical skills, including strong financial acumen and organisational abilities.
* Ability: Thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Role and responsibilities
What your role will include:
* Winning Work: Drive our success by producing winning tenders and nurturing key customer relationships.
* Cost Estimation: Create precise cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment, based on customer drawings and specifications.
* Market Insight: Stay ahead of the curve by understanding current market prices and benchmarking our solutions for increased success rates.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the New Business Manager to ensure compliance with J McCann Limited's procedures, business strategy, and clearance levels.
* Customer Engagement: Assist in presenting tender proposals to customers and actively participate in customer meetings throughout the tender process.
* Risk Management: Assess and adhere to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders.
* Supplier Selection: Source suitable sub-contractors and specialists for each project to guarantee the highest quality standards.
* Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with Construction Managers, Planners, and the Design Team to ensure seamless project execution.
* Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documents for senior management to showcase cost calculations and project feasibility.
* Knowledge Transfer: Ensure a smooth handover of bid documentation to the commercial and project operations teams.
