Overview
A wholly owned subsidiary of one of Europe’s leading lighting companies is looking to expand their team. As part of our ongoing success into 2025, they are recruiting for an East Anglian Area Sales Manager to drive continued sales growth in the region.
In this role, you will collaborate with the Midlands Sales Team to achieve sales targets, contributing to the overall success of the company. The focus will be on developing and executing a strategic approach across four key sectors, optimizing opportunities for growth, and fostering long-term client relationships. As an Area Sales Manager, your goal is to position the company as the preferred lighting manufacturer and become a trusted advisor to clients in our specialist markets.
Key Responsibilities
As an Area Sales Manager, you will:
* Drive Sales Growth: Implement targeted sales and marketing initiatives to increase revenue and profitability in your assigned region, from managing lighting projects through to securing orders directly with contractors or via wholesalers.
* Client Engagement: Proactively plan, schedule, and attend meetings with existing and prospective clients to foster relationships and develop new business.
* Sales Support: Respond promptly and professionally to sales inquiries, whether by email, phone, online, or in person, ensuring effective communication across all channels.
* Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers, offering personalized account support and tailored solutions.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Customer Service, Marketing, Technical) to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
* Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your region to expand the customer base.
* Events & Networking: Lead or participate in meetings, seminars, exhibitions, and conferences to promote the products and services.
* Product Demonstration: Showcase sample products, launch new product lines, and deliver engaging presentations, supported by marketing materials.
* Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports, providing insights on sales activity, opportunities, and market conditions.
* CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the company’s CRM system to track sales activity and customer interactions.
* Training & Development: Attend ongoing training sessions to stay current on product updates and industry trends.
* Site Visits: Conduct site visits as needed, including projects in construction, mental health facilities, social housing, rail sites, and prisons.
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, providing support and mentorship to other members of the sales team as necessary.

* Has experience in specification sales working with M&E Consultants and Contractors ideally within Transport, Healthcare, Custodial and Community & Public.

* Holds a Valid UK Driving Licence: A clean, current UK driving licence is required for travel across the region.
* Is Flexible: Willing to travel away from home for business functions, exhibitions, and meetings as necessary.
