Pershing X is a new start-up unit to incubate, engineer, and deliver breakthrough solutions that will transform the advisory market. We are looking for Senior UX Product Designers to join Pershing X, a new advisory startup within BNY | Pershing.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
1. The candidate should be an experienced professional with a full understanding of their area of specialization.
2. This role should have experience providing guidance and technical expertise for the most complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design.
3. Review documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams, as well as new and modified user personas.
4. Participate and provide guidance in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules.
5. Synthesize situations and information across multiple factors while applying company policies and procedures in the resolution of a variety of issues.
6. Comfortable giving design feedback and building good relationships with immediate team and cross-functional teams.
7. Help organize team processes and mentor and train more junior designers.
8. Strong communicator that checks for understanding and asks questions to understand others’ points of view.
9. Lead the implementation of visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness.
10. Interpret user feedback and insights to improve the user experience.
11. Serve as reviewer of usability activities and artifacts to ensure software applications meet customer expectations for use.
12. Provide UX expertise to the product definition and evaluation process utilizing multiple sources of information.
13. Independently perform and lead the creation and updating of user interface and visual design guidelines and standards.
14. Advocate for the user experience across the firm and facilitate training for groups outside the UX team.
15. Ensure that the developed/revised product achieves the user's specified goals by establishing user-centered analysis, design, best practices, and standards.
16. Contribute to the achievement of area objectives.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
2. 10+ years of experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
