The Legal Operations Deputy Director, as Head of Profession in HMCTS, plays a key role in strengthening the leadership of the legal profession within HMCTS by owning and implementing the day-to-day strategy, direction setting and process engineering for legal operations at the national level across the organisation. Working closely with HQ Directors, Deputy Directors, jurisdictional and national Service Owners, the Delivery Directors and other regional leaders, you will promote the highest legal professional standards across the organisation in a consistent and coherent manner. Responsibilities
* Acting as head of the legal profession in HMCTS, as the guardian of and champion of professional standards, and the statutory independence of HMCTS staff who undertake functions authorised by the judiciary;
* Ensuring that our legal support meets, and continues to meet the needs of HMCTS as the organisation changes and develops;
* Working in partnership in a complex delivery and stakeholder environment, especially with the senior judiciary, establishing and maintaining key internal, external and cross justice sector relationships;
* Leading future thinking on the legal profession within HMCTS, including future delivery models, professional capability requirements, roles and responsibilities, as well as expertise requirements;
* Improving legal operating models and standard operating procedures; and
* You will also have a significant representational role for the agency on all aspects of legal operations both internally and externally
