Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor
Oxford
Salary - £41,800(+ £750 Car Allowance) per annum - depending on skills and experience.
Contract type - Permanent
Working hours - Full Time
About the role
You will provide technical solutions and programmes of work to address responsive repairs, void property repairs and projects across a defined geographical area. It involves understanding the business requirements and resident`s requests and ensuring works are properly specified and delivered.
You will be completing property repairs and maintenance forms a key part of our contract with residents, the post holder must provide the right level of property maintenance to protect a buildings asset value and ensure repairs are undertaken right first time. A high level of resident satisfaction has been built up in the business and the role includes maintaining and improving on it.
You will be part of a key asset management role, crosscutting with colleagues in Planned Maintenance and Housing, with responsibility for the work managed hitting KPI targets. There are specific overall requirements to meet the regulatory and health and safety requirements around the service, including the Decent Homes Standard and most recently Housing health and safety rating system.
About you
You will have a professional qualification or equivalent experience in a maintenance, construction field.
You will have a fundamental knowledge of the construction industry in general, and field of Quantity Surveying/Project Management/ Building Surveying in particular.
You must have knowledge and application of Decent Homes standard and Housing health and safety rating.
You must have experience of procurement best practice and of procuring contracts and managing external contractors and suppliers.
You will have experience of delivering servicing works programmes, tendering, and using schedule of rates.
You will have BTEC, HND/HNC or equivalent ability or vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and numerical skills to the equivalent ability level.
You must have innovative, creative, and able to demonstrate drive and determination.
You will have experience of procurement best practice and of procuring contracts and managing external contractors and suppliers.
You must have the ability to work in a cross-cutting role collaborating with other services and teams.
You will be diplomatic and persuasive, ability to resolve conflict and influence people.
