Mō te tūnga - About the Role
The Child, Adolescent Day Unit (Child, Adolescent & Family Mental Health Service) is a specialist mental health service that provides assessment and treatment of children and young people up to 18 years of age who present with moderate to severe mental health problems, and their families.
The Child and Adolescent Day Unit works collaboratively with young people and their families that are requiring a more intensive approach than the community team are able to offer. The clinicians on the team have a range of skills and areas of clinical expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Taking a lead role in comprehensive service-based assessment and developing and implementing treatment plans and discharge planning;
* Ensuring communications are efficient and supporting the application of all Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha policies, processes and tools;
* Building relationships with consumers and their families/whānau;
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
* Adherence to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi;
* Proven clinical experience in mental health;
* Child, Adolescent and Family experience is advantageous;
* Previous experience working within a large multi-disciplinary team is desirable;
* The ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with youth, family/whānau, and community organisations;
* A flexible approach to your work, with the ability to draw on your own initiative and problem-solving skills.
